The United States and China are officially considering reducing the tariffs applicable to certain categories of Chinese products for import into the United States, and vice-versa.
The categories include tableware and kitchenware articles; table and toilet linen; and toys. A full list of covered products is available here.
It is expected, once both countries complete domestic legal and administrative procedures required to implement the agreement, that the covered products will be “tariff free” and subject only to their normal MFN duty rate.
We will keep you updated of any further developments. In the meantime, please contact us with any questions.
