Geraldine Tourny is an Associate in the Firm’s New York office. She is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas.
Her practice focuses on customs and international trade law, advising domestic and multinational companies on the full range of U.S. and foreign regulations governing the import, export, and sale of goods. Her clients operate across a wide range of industries, including textiles and apparel, consumer products, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and art and antiques.
Ms. Tourny counsels clients on matters such as tariff classification, customs valuation, first sale for export programs, buying agency agreements, country of origin determinations and marking, drawback, intellectual property rights, product safety requirements, trade remedies, trade preference programs, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). She regularly represents clients before U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), handling CF-28s and CF-29s, prior disclosures, ruling requests, and protests.
She also assists clients with developing and implementing internal compliance programs, including C-TPAT and compliance with the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), and advises on the structuring and drafting of complex international agreements.
In addition to her U.S. customs practice, Ms. Tourny frequently advises on European Union and French trade compliance matters, drawing on her dual training in U.S. and European law. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Hebrew, and is currently learning Portuguese.
Ms. Tourny is an active member of the New York City Bar Association’s Fashion Law Committee and volunteers with the Monday Night Law Clinic.
David qualified in February 1993, after obtaining an Honours Degree in Law from Standford University. Since then he has specialised exclusively in family law.
Over the years, David learned that the right approach to his client’s specific needs is the key to success and places great emphasis on ensuring that those needs are met.
With more than 25 years of experience, David deals with all work relating to the breakdown of relationships and the division of the relationship finances.
